Parks & Recreation

Pine Level has a thriving recreation program. There are sports programs going on in every season of the year, including Little League baseball, Babe Ruth baseball, girls’ softball, basketball, soccer, football, cheerleading and tee ball. Activities take place at the Sam Godwin Recreation Park, the Micro-Pine Level Elementary School gym, and the North Johnston High School football field. Some teams travel to various other communities to compete. The recreation program reaches out to all ages, including a very active Seniors Group. The Seniors meet on the second Wednesday of every month, at the Pine Level American Legion. They fellowship together, eat together and take short recreational trips to such places as the North Carolina State Fair and to see music shows at the Rudy Theater in Selma. Recreational opportunities are sponsored by the Pine Level Recreation Committee. If you would be interested in volunteering on this committee, contact the Town Hall to obtain an application. You may also contact the Town Hall to get more information about the various sports activities.

If it’s golf you’re interested in, try the Cardinal Country Club, located just north of Pine Level at 363 Parrish Memorial Road, Selma, NC. It is a semi-private course that opened in 1969, designed by John Nubin. It has 18 holes and 6,602 yards of golfing pleasure with a par of 72. The contact number for the Cardinal is (919) 284-3647.
